ESED: MoLHR
The Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment Division (ESED) under the Department of Employment and Human Resources (DoEHR) of Ministry of Labour and Human Resources (MoLHR) is mandated to:
i. To promote creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial culture through trainings
ii. To promote entrepreneurship education in TVET, colleges under RUB and schools
iii. To develop Business Incubation Centre
iv. To support new startups for job creation
v. To develop critical skill development for entrepreneurs
To achieve the mandates, the division undertakes the following activities:
i. Basic and Advanced Entrepreneurship Training
ii. Student Business Seedling Program
iii. Training of Trainer (ToT) on New Business Creation
iv. Startup Innovation Tech Week and Startup Weekend
v. Business Acceleration Program
vi. Entrepreneurship Awareness Program
vii. Global Entrepreneurship Week
viii. Business Idea Competition of Bhutan (BICoB)
ix. Set up of Digital Fabrication Labs
x. Micro-works and Online Freelancing
xi. Facilitation of access to finance through Priority Sector Lending (PSL), Rural Enterprise Development Corporation Limited (REDCL), Civil Services Organizations (CSOs) and others
xii. Facilitation in fulfilling the regulatory requirements for startups
xiii. Facilitate providing incubation space for new startups
xiv. Provide post business support services such as mentoring and business advisory services
